A few Emerald Bowl post-game thoughts while reflecting in today's victory over the University of Miami Hurricanes in the Emerald Bowl...

Although Longshore didn't have the best four years, and won't go down in history as Cal's best QB. I definitely don't think he should have been booed. Many Cal fans, unfortunately, did not know that Riley was injured and thus the chants for Riley to come in were mostly due to ignorance but still... it sucks for Longshore.  I feel bad for the guy.

Somehow I feel like Cal finished the season the same way they started it - with uncertainty in the spotlight. Overall, Longshore's ten-year with Cal was average at best. But when you look around the corner, Tedford will be setting up Riley and freshman Brock Mansion. Not to mention, Javid Best.

It is being neither inaccurate nor unkind to suggest that Best was the only consistently productive component to Cal's offense Saturday night. He gained an Emerald Bowl record 186 yards on 20 carries, and it's safe to say the threat he represented was a factor in the 152 yards Cal gained on its 31 Jahvid-free plays.

The future? Well, with Tedford at the helm, who knows. National Championship? I can't wait the grueling nine months until next season!
